Happy Halloween

So I had every intention of making Jack's costume this year as well as some Halloween decorations, but then I got lazy and then I went back to work part-time.  So I did the best that I could. Jack and Anayah were supposed to be Pebbles and Bam-Bam, but I didn't come through with the Bam-Bam costume.  Maybe next year.  Here are some highlights from the month.

No, I didn't make this, but I did get it 75% last year's Pottery Barn Kids Halloween clearance sale!
We hope everyone had a spooky happy Halloween this year!

Friday Fun

Jack and Anayah are quite a pair and growing up too so quickly!  They are the best of friends, as you can see from these pictures.  Good thing Anayah is so flexible and easy-going since we crammed squished her in with Jack!

"What are you doing to us?"

"Oh, okay!  This is going to be fun!"

"Here Dad, let me show you how it's done!"
"Jack, nothing is happening!"
"Now you've got it!  Mush!"
"Hang on, Anayah.  I think I am stronger pulling it this way."
We hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Videos Galore!

Wow...it's been too long since I've been here to make a post!  Sorry all!   We have been having so much over here in the Von Rosen house that I haven't had time to post about all the fun we're having.  Here are a variety of  videos of our crazy boy for you all to enjoy.  He has been cracking us up and I hope you all get a chuckle watching him as well, after all, everyone needs to laugh and smile at least once a day; it's good for your health!

Jack and Daddy in "That Hilarious Fly Swatter"

Jack in "The Closet Under the Stairs"
I had a pretty cool classroom library while I was teaching and luckily, we have a fabulous space under the stairs that can be used for storage or a playroom.  So I took my classroom curtains, my furniture and all my books and games and made the room into a place where the kids can get away from all the stale adults.  Now that Jack is older, he has discovered this room is pretty cool!

Jack in "Hmmmm?"
I love now when you ask Jack anything he faces his palm up and says, "Hmmm?"  It is just too cute!  Here he is wondering where his cousins are.

Jack in "I am going to find a way to get what I want whether you like it or not!"
Jack has taught us that putting stuff up on tables and counters, out of his reach, is a dirty trick in his world.  So he has found a way to outsmart us all!

Jack the Gymster
Jack has been in My Gym since he was about 4 months old.  He has moved from "Little Bundles" to "Tiny Tykes" and now he is in "Waddlers."  He is really taking in everything in and practicing his skills at home.  He also just plain loves lying, climbing, and throwing himself on and off the couch!

This is the end of the Jack Show.  We hope you all had a great time!  Come back and visit us soon!

Jack loves being outside anywhere and just hanging out.  We went to the mall and he decided to just hang out in front of Williams Sonoma (great taste).

Sea World!

My niece and goddaughter, Maddie, wanted to go to Sea World for her 11th birthday and we were more than excited to take Jack there for the first time.  He had a blast!  We watched all the shows: Dolphin Adventure, Shamu, Pets Rule, and my favorite, Clyde and Seamore.  He sat, totally enthralled during each show and at the end, he would sign "more".  It was so cute.  We also took him on the teacups, which he loved, and he got to splash around Journey to Atlantis.  He was such a good boy and we all had so much fun!  I can't wait to take him again!

This is how he was during every show!

Pets Rule show...we stuck around after so he could pet all the animals.

He was a rock star all day!  He even managed to stay awake so we could all go to dinner afterwards!

Jack's Baptism

Jack finally had his official baptism ceremony on Saturday, August 20.  It was such a nice ceremony.  His Aunt Alyssa and Uncle Will are his godparents.  He is such a lucky boy to have such loving and wonderful godparents!

I was a bit worried about how he would do with the water on his head.  He didn't seem to mind, but that could be because he kept dunking his hands in the baptismal fountain and splashing around!  Luckily this made the Deacon laugh (good thing he's cute!).  He was also fascinated with the flame of the baptismal candle that his Uncle Will lit (fire, fire!).  The Deacon had the church members sing "Happy Birthday" for their spiritual birthday and he LOVED that!  He was clapping and laughing.  Overall it was a good day.

Chillin' with Daddy before the ceremony
Can you see my halo?
When do we get to light this thing?

The Family
I look forward to guiding my son in becoming a spiritual and faithful human being.  I am so fortunate to have had 13 years of Catholic School and parents who raised me with morals and values.  I truly hope Surya and I are able to give our son the same.
