We decided to combine two very important events into one for you, little girl. We had your first birthday party and your baptism on the same day. I must say, you were quite the adorable little baby wearing Maddie's baptismal gown that abuelita made. I can't say you were the best behaved baby being baptized that day, but you were definitely the most spirited and let God and the world know that you are happy to be alive! We asked Aunt Megan and Uncle Travis to be your godparents because they are such special people in Mommy and Daddy's lives and now yours. You are so blessed to have such amazing people as your guardians.
For you birthday, we decided to have "A Very Hungry Catepillar" themed party since you are, in fact, just that - a very hungry caterpillar! The cake was beautiful, and although you were tired from all the activity at the baptism, you celebrated your first birthday with a hoot and a hollar. We can't believe that a year has already passed with you here on earth as our beautiful little girl from heaven. We can't wait to see what the next year has in store for you! We love you Mikayla Marie!!
